About Naarm Cranes
Lifting Industry. Building Opportunity.
Naarm Cranes is a First Nations-owned crane hire and lifting company established in Melbourne, Victoria.
Built from hands-on experience within Australia’s crane, rigging and construction industries, Naarm Cranes was founded with a clear purpose: to deliver safe, reliable and professional lifting solutions while creating genuine pathways for First Nations people into the construction industry.
We understand that successful crane operations extend well beyond the lift itself. They require experienced people, well-maintained equipment, careful planning, strong logistics and an uncompromising approach to safety and compliance. These principles form the foundation of how Naarm Cranes intends to operate.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is self determination through opportunity.
Naarm Cranes exists to help remove the barriers that can prevent First Nations people from entering, developing and building long-term careers within the construction and crane hire industries.
We aim to create structured pathways from entry level employment through training, High Risk Work Licensing, rigging and crane operations, supervision, management and leadership.
Our ambition is not simply to create jobs. It is to develop skills, experience and industry capability that provide people with greater control over their own careers and futures.
Built for the Industry
Naarm Cranes is being developed by people with practical experience across crane hire, rigging, construction and major projects.
Our experience spans pick-and-carry, all-terrain and crawler crane operations, crane yard operations and scheduling, rigging, crane assembly and configuration, maintenance, and work across Tier 1 construction and heavy-lift environments.
This industry experience shapes the way we are building the business from our fleet and operating systems through to safety, workforce development and client service.
More Than Social Procurement
We believe Indigenous participation should represent more than a procurement target.
Our goal is to build a commercially competitive crane company where Indigenous ownership, employment and development are embedded within the business itself.
By combining industry capability with meaningful employment, training and career progression, Naarm Cranes aims to demonstrate that commercial performance and positive social outcomes can strengthen one another.
Our Mission
To advance self-determination for First Nations peoples by removing barriers to employment, training and career progression within the construction and crane hire industries.
Through meaningful employment, skills development and long-term career pathways, we aim to build capability, independence and lasting economic participation for First Nations people.
Our Vision
To build a leading First Nations-owned crane and lifting company that is recognised for the quality of its people, the safety of its operations and the opportunities it creates.
